Detailed information

Product detailed description

The latest version of the BMW Navigator series so far. For twenty years, these navigation systems were manufactured for BMW by Garmin, now it is Cyrus Technology GmbH. TomTom is now the supplier of map data. You can find a comparison of both series in the article BMW MOTORRAD CONNECTEDRIDE CRADLE vs NAVIGATOR VI - comparison

The whole world in one device. With the ConnectedRide Navigator device, you can plan, manage, record or download your favorite routes. Through My Rides, you can evaluate all recorded rides with regard to speed, braking intensity, acceleration and lateral tilt. If you connect the ConnectedRide Navigator to a hotspot or use your own SIM card, traffic information is updated in real time.

While riding, you can easily and safely control the functions of the ConnectedRide Navigator via the multi-controller. For example, if you want to use your smartphone to make a call or listen to music via a streaming app, all you need to do is click a few times with your left thumb in the intuitively controllable interface. You can also adjust the volume of all devices that are connected via Bluetooth.

Whether it's BMW ConnectedRide products or your smartphone, the ConnectedRide Navigator combines all devices and media apps in one device. When the motorcycle and Navigator are actively connected, the navigation, telephone and media functions are grayed out on the TFT display and are clearly displayed on the ConnectedRide Navigator display. You can easily synchronize your route planning from the BMW Motorrad Connected app with the ConnectedRide Navigator thanks to the BMW ID and the integration into the BMW Motorrad cloud.

With the navigation preparation available either as an optional extra for new models or as a retrofit solution, the ConnectedRide Navigator also connects a number of older BMW motorcycles from 2014 to the world's roads. Simply click, lock and you can enjoy the benefits of the ConnectedRide Navigator.

Everything as if it were cast from one piece: the graphic layout and the user interaction. The hardware and software fit perfectly into the BMW Motorrad operating world. The display allows for easy operation at all times thanks to its intuitive design. The hardware is designed for the demands of motorcyclists, which means for the toughest use. It can withstand dust, heavy shocks, frost and extreme heat and can be cleaned with a high-pressure cleaner. It boasts a protection rating of even IP 69.

The 5.5-inch touchscreen display is easy to read even in direct sunlight. The TFT display and ConnectedRide Navigator work together perfectly. When the Navigator is connected, the phone, navigation and media elements on the TFT display will be grayed out.

  • Charging and data transfer options: USB-C connection and cable
  • Backwards compatibility: The ConnectedRide Navigator can be used and controlled via the multi-controller by almost all BMW Motorrad models from model year 2014 with a multi-controller and special navigation preparation equipment.
  • The models Tourer R 1200 RT, R 1250 RT, K 1600 GT, K 1600 GTL, K 1600 B and K 1600 Grand America are excluded.

BMW (Bayerische Motoren Werke) is one of the best-known and most respected brands in the world, not only in the automotive but also in the motorcycle industry. The motorcycle division, known as BMW Motorrad, has a rich history full of innovation and success.

  • Beginnings: After World War I, when Germany was banned from producing aircraft engines, BMW focused on other engineering fields. Chief designer Max Friz designed the brand's first production motorcycle in 1923 - the BMW R 32.

  • BMW R 32: This model is fundamental to the entire future philosophy of BMW motorcycles. It had an air-cooled, two-cylinder boxer engine that was mounted transversely in the frame, and a cardan (shaft) rear wheel drive. These elements became the brand's hallmark and are still used in its boxer models today.

  • Technical innovations: BMW has focused on technical advancement from the beginning. Their motorcycles were known for their reliability and innovations. These include, for example, hydraulic suspension and other elements that were progressive for their time.

  • Racing successes: BMW motorcycles also achieved success in motorsport. In 1939, Georg "Schorsch" Meier won the prestigious Senior TT on the Isle of Man on a supercharged BMW, becoming the first non-British rider to win the race.

  • Post-war revival: After World War II, BMW was allowed by the Allies to produce only small single-cylinder motorcycles, such as the R 24. It was not until 1951 that it returned to producing twin-cylinder boxers.

  • Modern era and global growth: In the 1970s, BMW introduced the R 90 S, which was considered one of the first superbikes. The pivotal model that defined the touring enduro segment was the BMW R 80 G/S from 1980. This bike brilliantly combined on-road and off-road capabilities and pioneered a category that BMW now dominates with its GS models.
