To protect the exposed downpipes and connecting pipe, we recommend using the DAKAR downpipe protector.
Damage to the downpipes of a boxer engine is inevitable with intensive off-road use. Stones thrown up by the front wheel or the rider in front of you can easily cause dents and impact marks. Even more serious are impacts against stones or boulders in the off-road. Such "battle scars" would be suitable for hardcore enduro, but not necessarily for the R 12.
The DAKAR downpipe protector consists of three tailor-made stainless steel protectors: two for the downpipes and one for the connecting pipe. The distinctive "tool-style" design follows the curve of the downpipes, underlines the G/S look and is easy to install - without drilling - using high-quality and strong clamping straps.
