INTERPHONE SMART AIR PUMP vs AIR PUMP MINI
Are you looking for a compact travel companion that won't leave you stranded with a flat tire? The cordless compressor market is growing, and today we look at a battle between two siblings: Interphone Smart Air Pump with a 4000 mAh capacity and its smaller brother, the Air Pump Mini with a 3150 mAh capacity.
Although it might seem that a larger battery automatically means more work, our test on a motorcycle tire of size 130/80 R17 showed surprisingly balanced results.
Performance Duel: Paper versus Reality
The most interesting finding is the fact that despite the different battery capacities, both devices deliver almost identical performance in the field.
-
Interphone Smart Air pump (4000 mAh): Inflates a 130/80 R17 tire to 2.4 bar a total of 3× fully, ending about halfway (1.4 bar) on the fourth attempt. One inflation takes approximately 5 and a half minutes.
-
Interphone Air Pump Mini (3150 mAh): Despite the smaller battery, it handles the same portion – meaning 3 full inflations to 2.4 bar and one more "halfway". It manages the inflation in less than 4 minutes.
Equipment and Features: Where do they differ?
While the Air Pump Mini wins in performance speed, there are differences in additional equipment. Here you must decide whether you prefer multifunctionality or minimalism.
1. Interphone Smart Air pump (4000 mAh) – "The Emergency Survival Kit"
This model is not just a compressor. The manufacturer used the larger body and capacity to turn the device into a universal tool:
-
Integrated Flashlight: Ideal for night-time puncture repairs or as an emergency light at a campsite.
-
Power Bank Function: Via the USB-A output port, you can recharge your phone or navigation. However, it should be considered an auxiliary function – modern phones with large batteries will likely only be partially charged to ensure enough energy remains for inflation.
- Larger LCD showing both target and current pressures simultaneously; however, the battery indicator is less precise, only changing colors and flashing, lacking the 4-bar segments found on the Air Pump Mini.
2. Interphone Air Pump Mini (3150 mAh)
The Mini version bets on compactness and efficiency.
-
Quiet Operation: The main benefit (besides dimensions) is significantly lower noise levels. If you are inflating in the morning at a campsite or in a residential garage, you won't wake the whole neighborhood.
-
Minimalism: It lacks a flashlight and power bank function, which is reflected in lower weight and better storage in small luggage or under a motorcycle seat.
- Speed: Inflating the tire took a surprisingly much shorter time, only 3:55 seconds!
Both devices impress with their charging speed. Charging from "zero to hero" takes approximately 1.5 hours for both models. This is an excellent time that allows you to comfortably prepare the compressor for its next use during a lunch break at a gas station or a longer stop.
