Zumo XT 2 adapter for BMW cradle (control via Wonder Wheel on the handlebars)

Control your Garmin Zumo XT2 or Tread 2 with the BMW Wonder Wheel!

Perfect integration between your BMW motorcycle and your Garmin Zumo XT 2 / Tread 2

With this adapter you can mount your Garmin Zumo XT2 or Garmin Tread 2 on the original BMW Navigator mount. Thanks to the Multi-controller, also known as the "Wonder Wheel", you can easily control your Garmin directly from the handlebars.

With a simple turn of the wheel, you can zoom in and out and even assign additional functions to the button for an even better riding experience.

The navigation can be locked in the holder using the TeqMount BMW lock adapter Zumo XT2 Wonderwheel

How does it work?

The adapter connects to the original BMW Navigator holder. This provides your Garmin device with power and at the same time a signal from the handlebar controller from the Wonder Wheel. Garmin thinks a Garmin handlebar remote is connected. BMW thinks a BMW Navigator is connected. The adapter acts as a bridge between the two systems.

Result: seamless control of your Garmin with the BMW Wonder Wheel.

As mentioned, we “translate” the signal from the BMW Wonder Wheel into the signal used by the Garmin handlebar remote. The Garmin controller is pictured next to the BMW handlebars. This controller has four buttons: Plus (+), Minus (–), Triangle, and Circle.

You can assign specific functions to these buttons in the Zumo XT2 menu. The plus and minus buttons are often used to zoom in and out, which disables the long-press function on these buttons. The triangle and circle buttons can be assigned two functions: one for a short press and one for a long press.

Our adapter translates the input as follows:

• Rotate up: Plus button on the remote control

• Rotate down: Minus button on the remote control

• Push the wheel in (right): Triangle button

• Push the wheel out (left): Circle button

• A long press on the triangle or circle also works for the second programmed function.

With or without a locking adapter?

Most BMW motorcycles are equipped with a pre-installed holder that can be lock and unlock with the motorcycle key. By ordering a locking adapter, you can also lock the Zumo XT2 or Tread 2 with the same key.
