    Oil Change Procedure on BMW R1250GS:

    1. Prepare necessary parts and tools:

    2. Warm up the engine for a few minutes by riding or idling. The oil will be warmer, drain better, and carry away impurities.

    3. Place the motorcycle on its center stand and ensure it is stable.

    4. Unscrew the engine drain plug (under the engine block) and allow the oil to drain completely into the prepared container.

    5. Replace the oil filter – using the oil filter wrench, screw the new filter into place (always lightly coat the filter gasket with fresh oil).

    6. Clean the drain plug area and install a new crush washer.

    7. Screw the drain plug back in (check motorcycle manual for recommended torque, usually approx. 32 Nm).

    8. Fill with new oil – pour 4 liters of fresh oil through the filler neck on the engine.

    9. Start the engine for a few minutes, turn it off, and check the oil level (top up according to the sight glass/dipstick if necessary).

    10. Check for leaks around all connections – ensure no oil is leaking anywhere.

    11. Dispose of used oil and filter ecologically in accordance with regulations.

    Specific procedure for replacing the air filter:

    1. Place the motorcycle on its center stand.

    2. Remove the seat.

    3. Remove the central plastic cover (panel between seat and tank) – loosen 4 Torx T25 screws (2 behind the seat, 2 near handlebars) and optionally 1 Torx T30 screw at the upper part of the panel.

    4. Remove the central cover – the airbox will now be accessible.

    5. Unscrew the airbox lid (air filter cover) – again 4x Torx T25.

    6. Carefully remove the airbox lid and air filter.

    7. Clean the airbox – wipe the inside with a dry cloth or vacuum small debris.

    8. Insert new air filter (BMW 13727726799) or Air Filter HFA7915 R1200GS LC R1250GS Hiflofiltro, pay attention to proper seating of the rubber seal into the box groove.

    9. Reinstall filter cover, tighten the 4 Torx screws.

    10. Reinstall the central cover panel and seat back on.

    • Recommended interval: every 20,000 km or under severe dust conditions.

    • Filter type: BMW 13727726799 / alternative K&N/HifloFiltro.

     Work time approx. 15 minutes, no special tools required - a Torx T25/T30 set and a clean cloth will suffice.

     

    Procedure for replacing brake fluid:

    1. Prepare: DOT4 brake fluid (Brake fluid DOT 4 250ml BMW), clear hose, container for old fluid, and a bleeder wrench.

    2. Cover painted parts around reservoirs, brake fluid is aggressive and can damage paint.

    3. Open brake reservoir cap (front/rear brake depending on which one you are replacing).

    4. Siphon out old fluid from reservoir, e.g., using a syringe – DO NOT empty completely to prevent air from entering the system.

    5. Pour new DOT4 fluid into the reservoir.

    6. Attach hose to caliper bleeder valve and submerge its other end into container with old fluid.

    7. Loosen bleeder valve by 1/2 turn.

    8. Pump the brake lever – while squeezing lever, briefly open bleeder valve, old fluid will flow out through hose. While holding lever, close valve, then release lever. Repeat (top up reservoir fluid!) until only clean new fluid without bubbles comes out.

    9. Tighten valve, clean area and close brake reservoir with fresh fluid.

    10. Repeat the same for the rear brake.
